Molly Bloom and Promarkers...

Hi All,

Well after a lovely 3 day weekend, I'm back in the shop creating. Today, I decided to give the Molly Bloom stamps a whirl and have put together a step by step colouring guide for those of you who want to get started with Promarkers.

Step 1.

Stamp your desired image using Memento Black Ink onto Smooth White Cardstock. Here I have used Farmyard Molly and Hay Bale.

Step 2.

Colour the Hay Bale using Pumpkin, Gold, Sunflower and Cocoa:

 First, apply Pumpkin to the darkest (shadowed) areas

 Then use the Gold marker to colour over the pumpkin and out another 1/3 of the way. If you can still see a line between the Pumpkin and Gold, use the Gold in small circles over the line.

Next colour the remaining hay and over the pumpkin/gold to blend.


Skin - See Step 3.





The rope can then be coloured with Cocoa.

Step 3.

Colour Molly using Terracotta, Apricot, Saffron, Vanilla, Lush Green, Apple, Orchid, Lavender and Pastel Pink

Skin - Start with Apricot on the shadowed parts of the face and arms.
           Next, use Saffron to blend, leaving a small part of the face and top of the
           arms

 Face - Add Pastel Pink to the cheeks (spotty area) and complete the face using
            Vanilla. (go over all skin areas with Vanilla to complete the blend)

 Top - Use Lush Green to colour the majority, leaving areas along the top to add          
           highlights

Top -   Colour over the lush green and remaining white areas with Apple.


Shoes - Colour the toes Lush green and the rest of the shoe Apple.

 Trousers, Socks and Handscarf - Use Orchid for the darkest areas...

....then blend using Lavender










Your picture is now complete! I decided to create an outdoors themed birthday card with mine. A list of everything you will need is at the bottom.

Stampin Up! Perfect Plum Cardstock (108615)
Stampin Up! Garden Green Designer Series paper (117154)
Stampin Up! Victoria Crochet Trim (118481)
Cheery Lynn Designs Picket Fence
Marianne Designs Creatables Stencil - Icicle
Wild Orchid Crafts Paper Flowers
LOTV sentiment stamps

We had a busy day at Pink Pig on Saturday and a few father's day cards were made. 1st, we have Charlie's creation (age 5):

.....and for extra effect, the inside has a secret boofle!!


Next we have Jamie's (age 10) card. Again a twisted Easel design, but this time using LOTV's football stamp:

and finally, we have Gill's creation using Jolly Nation's Remote Man. ( I think a lot of people can relate to this one!!)

The first two entries are in! Faye Marshall submitted the first entry using a Little Claire stamp. Faye has made this card as a Birthday card, but it could be easily adapted for any male occasion.

Father's Day Challenge...

So, it's been a couple of months without a blog challenge, so what better way to kick start it, than to use Father's Day as a theme.

I seem to have been making a lot of men's card recently, so here's a couple to get your creative juices flowing....

These 2 were for twin brothers 70th birthdays, but could quiet easily be adapted to be father's day cards...

...and here's the loveable Boofle. Same stamp, but different ideas. I thought I'd try him in a waistcoat to coordinate with my backing papers!

Where does the time go???

Can't believe it's been so long since I updated the blog!!. Easter saw lots of little visitors making pillow box owls and bookmarks, as well as the grown ups coming in to make a few cards.

Last week I had two requests for this weeks coffee morning. One was to make a wedding card and the other a twisted easel card. So what's a girl to do???? Make a twisted easel wedding card is what!

Ruth has several weddings to attend, so I have created a Humphrey wedding card and Gill wants a twisted easel:

but not everyone wants or needs a wedding card, so I adapted this to a generic Humphrey:

I can't wait to see the variations of these cards on Thursday!

It's my Husbands birthday today. I am not the biggest fan of making 'boy' cards, as they just don't appreciate the effort as much as the girls, but I just couldn't resist poking a little fun in this Stella creation:
