Many of you will have seen the Spectrum Noir pens from Crafter's Companion and that you can now complete an accreditation to be an official colourist, well I decided it was time for me to start practising.
I generally use Promarkers, as I like the effects I can achieve with them and most of the classes I have attended in the past have used them. When the Spectrum Noir pens were launched the uptake and buzz was amazing, so I decided to get some to give it a whirl. They are so different to the Promarkers that I have to be honest and say I struggled to get to grips with how to achieve a straight forward blend, but after a bit of You Tube studying and utilising Spectrum Noir's fantastic Blog, I think I'm starting to get the hang of it.
This was my first attempt.
It's a bit patchy and the blending wasn't very good, but we all have to start somewhere....right?
Well, on a rare moment of me time, I decided to try again as my daughter Niamh turns 10 soon and I wanted to make sure I had her card all ready. This is the next attempt...
This time I managed to get the blend working better and probably picked a better colour combo (always helps you achieve better effects!!). Happy that Niamh wouldn't pull me up on my poor colouring, I went on to make her card..
She's very pink and girly (unlike her mum!), so I think she will like this one.
I shall keep practising and let you know how I get on.
