It's almost party time!!!

The birthday cards have started to trickle in, but I am being very good and waiting until Pink Pig's actual birthday before opening them!!

It's getting very exciting, I have pink fizz for adults and kids, pink buns, pink balloons.....oh my god it's sooooo pink!!! You would never have guessed it's my least fave colour!, but Green Pig and Purple Pink just didn't have the same ring!!!

On the day there will be free make & takes available, so if you're passing, pop in for a bun and crafty session. Also, there will be some crafty goodies to give away just because I can!!!

My Family...

What a lovely weekend we had in London to celebrate Niamh's 10th Birthday. We went to see We Will Rock You (for the 3rd time!) but as Niamh loves Queen as much as me and Neil, it was a winner all round. A fantastic performance with some very lively audience members!

After a TGI tea, where Niamh was treated by TGI's to a hat and cake, we had a lovely stroll along the Southbank where Niamh rode the Merry-go-Round with her Dad......

Now back to my crafty haven to continue with my Christmas Cards.

Wednesday 7 November 2012

Did you enjoy Bonfire night?

Hope everyone had an enjoyable and safe Bonfire Night. We went to Mum and Dad's for a little firework display. I say little, but as my Dad sells the fireworks, so we do end up with some large show stoppers!!

Back at the office, I haven't been able to make many cards due to ill health (again) Its always a little difficult when you can't focus to stay in the lines with the old Promarkers!!, but hey ho, getting back to normal now and to compete with the fireworks, I have come up with this little creation:

I stumbled across justinklined.com after partially watching create and craft. They have some fantastic digital stamps and some of the designs even come with their own backing papers and embellishments!! Superb!!

Only 24 days until our 1st Birthday. I hope you're all having fun creating your Birthday cards for a chance to win a £10 birthday present. Get the kids involved...they could win your Christmas pressie!!

Sketch Challenge #3 (sort of ish)

Well the website is back up and running, so the stock checking has commenced to try and get everything as accurate as possible......exhausting work! and to add to it I'm still trying to make at least 100 Christmas cards to sell at a Christmas market. Here's a couple of creations:-

I've been very Molly Blooms orientated since I attended one of Clare Rowland's classes. Loving the new designs!

Today, Pink Pig is 11 months old, so I thought the Sketch Challenge sort of ish should be for everyone to create a Birthday card all ready for our 1st Birthday!!

So, I'm not exactly giving you the sketch, more like the theme ( should have called it theme challenge?!? )
My daughter Niamh will choose the winning design at random out of a hat and the winner will receive £10 to spend at Pink Pig!!

So what are you waiting for???? Get crafting!!!!

Friday 19 October 2012

A bit more practice required....

Many of you will have seen the Spectrum Noir pens from Crafter's Companion and that you can now complete an accreditation to be an official colourist, well I decided it was time for me to start practising.

I generally use Promarkers, as I like the effects I can achieve with them and most of the classes I have attended in the past have used them. When the Spectrum Noir pens were launched the uptake and buzz was amazing, so I decided to get some to give it a whirl. They are so different to the Promarkers that I have to be honest and say I struggled to get to grips with how to achieve a straight forward blend, but after a bit of You Tube studying and utilising Spectrum Noir's fantastic Blog, I think I'm starting to get the hang of it.

This was my first attempt.

It's a bit patchy and the blending wasn't very good, but we all have to start somewhere....right?

Well, on a rare moment of me time, I decided to try again as my daughter Niamh turns 10 soon and I wanted to make sure I had her card all ready. This is the next attempt...

This time I managed to get the blend working better and probably picked a better colour combo (always helps you achieve better effects!!). Happy that Niamh wouldn't pull me up on my poor colouring, I went on to make her card..

She's very pink and girly (unlike her mum!), so I think she will like this one.

I shall keep practising and let you know how I get on.

Friday 28 September 2012

The weeks are just flying by now and it's hard to believe that Christmas is only 12 weeks away! I must pull my finger out and get some more cards made, but with my summer holiday only a week away, its hard to concentrate on Christmas.

Entries 7&8 for this months Sketch Challenge have arrived from Jeanette. I'm loving the beach huts, nothing to do with the fact it's only a week until my holiday!! (did I mention that already!! :-) )

Don't forget to keep voting on the blog, facebook or in store. I've had a few comments from customers in the shop, but I'm keeping them secret so that the winner will be a total surprise.....so mean I know!

There's still time for you to submit an entry, remember the last submission date is Sunday. I will then close voting on Friday 5th October (day before my holiday) and announce the winner before I jet off!

It's all so quiet...

This week I am back in the shop on my own. Niamh is back at school and Peppa is back at work, so it's very very quiet!!

Before Peppa went back to work, she had just enough time to submit her entry for Sketch Challenge #2:

Beautiful bright colours and a lovely Hocus Pocus digi stamp to suit Pep's Princess side!

So now you have a couple of very different cards for inspiration, it's time for you to get creative.
Add your design to facebook, the blog or email a pic to pinkpigcrafts@aol.com

Thursday 6 September 2012

Especially for Ruth!!!!

We've had another fabulous coffee morning with some new faces today and here are a couple of their designs:-

Now, for those of you that know me well, I'm not one to be pushed into anything I don't want to do, but today, one of my lovely customers (RUTH!!!) demanded a blog update, so here it is.

I have made my design based on Sketch Challenge #2 just to give you a bit of inspiration....

So the next part is up to you.....get your crafty hats on and send me a picture of  your creations (Ruth this now means you have to submit an entry!!!!!)

Sketch Challenge #1

The coffee morning Christmas card from yesterday inspired me to start a crafty challenge. I have seen sketch challenges on several blogs, so decided it was time to start my own.

This is Challenge #1

The only rule is that it must be a Christmas creation. You can choose your own colour scheme, embellishments and sentiments, but you must stick to the design above.

To get you started, here is my design....

The closing date is Saturday 1st September when challenge #2 will be launched. The winner will receive some Flexmarkers and their card will be added to the Pink Pig Gallery for all to see.

Happy Crafting.

Something to make you smile...

Whoever thought that 6 weeks off school was a good idea, should be made to look after everyone's kids for the full 6 weeks! (rant over)

Today I decided to add a little humour into my card making.

This was my first attempt using did stamps, but I have to say, I quite like them!

Wednesday 1 August 2012

Mum's 60th Birthday

Next week is my mum's 60th Birthday, so I wanted to make a nice understated card to mark the occasion. She has indicated a liking for Popcorn Bear with his bottle of Champers in the past, so I thought this would be the perfect choice!

We celebrate this weekend with the family, so here's hoping for a fabulous night!

Mass production...

This year I have promised myself that I will get all my Christmas Cards made in good time.
(fingers crossed)

Mass production has begun!! I absolutely love this reindeer stamp from Mulberry Wood and he is proving to be very colour versatile.

All the images are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and coloured using Promarkers.

Adult Reindeer : Walnut, Chestnut , Spice & Honeycomb
Child Reindeer : Chestnut, Spice & Honeycomb
Antlers : Saffron & Vanilla
Log : Burnt Sienna, Raw Sienna & Vanilla
Trees : Pine, Grass, Leaf
Light bulbs - True Blue, Emerald, Gold, Poppy
Snow Accent - Pastel Blue

Papers are from Bearlymine and Mulberry Wood CD and the sentiment is from Stampin Up!

For a bit of extra bling, I have used the Tonic snowflake punch and some glitter glue.

I'm sure many friends will be receiving these adorable designs this year!!

Simple Christmas Cards

On Saturday, myself and Peppa sat down to design some simple Christmas Cards that could be used in a pack. The plan was for each pack to contain enough card/embellishments to make up 5 of each design and include a stamp/stamp set. This is what we have come up with so far....

Kit 1                  Black and White Dasher

This kit is just £10 and comes complete with an instruction sheet and Dasher stamp.

Kit 2           Snowflake Wreath

This kit is £20, comes complete with instruction sheet and Snowflake stamp set (4 stamps included)

Kit 3    Polar Party Tags

This kit is £24, comes complete with instruction sheet and Polar Party stamp set (9 stamps included)

The stamp sets used here are from Stampin Up!. Peppa is our local demonstrator, who will process the orders and have available usually within 7 days. You can place an order by calling 01132523151 or email pinkpigcrafts@aol.com

I will be bringing some Mulberry Wood Kits to you very soon!!

Happy Crafting.

Friday 13 July 2012

Its all gone purple in here...

The card making has been a little slow this week due to the severity of my back pain. Unfortunately, the only solution is to increase my meds, which spaces me out a little (or a lot if you ask my husband!). But I am not one to be defeated and have been battling on to make some lovely purple cards. I do try to use other colours, but I always come back to my trusted favourite...

Who says poppies have to be red???

and this one I made for myself....well I persuaded my sister to give it to me for my birthday!

My good friend and local Stampin Up! demonstrator Peppa Knights will be joining me on Saturday for a Christmas crafting session. The wait is killing me, as I am itching to get all the Christmas stamps out and have a play. So, watch this space for some Christmas Creations and Special Offers.

Tuesday 10 July 2012

A big Thank You

The winner of the 2 Molly Bloom stamps is Connie Evans. The runner's up prizes go to Lindy Hemsley and Kay Rogers Knott.

Congratulations everyone and a big Thank You to everybody who has liked the Pink Pig Page over the last 7 months. I really appreciate your support.

I'll keep this brief as the new Mulberry Wood Stamps have arrived this morning and I must crack on. I'll post some designs soon.

Happy Crafting

Wednesday 4 July 2012

...so I got a little side tracked!

I did start playing with the new LOTV stamps I received, but the pull of Christmas was just too great! You know when ideas are in your head, you just have to let them out, well, today was like that.

Not to disappoint, here is the LOTV card first:
such a cute little bear!

....and then the Christmas brain kicked in...

I have made this as a double sided window decoration, but it did start giving me ideas for Christmas cards, Tree decorations, gift tags.......oh the possibilities!!
The images are Kanban Winter Wonderland and Happy Christmas. The Snowflakes & Letters are from Stampin Up! (available through a demonstrator) and I have used distress inks around the edges.

Now I must go and prepare for tomorrows coffee morning or I will be in trouble!!

Thursday 28 June 2012
